I was twenty-something and tasked with wandering the city with a camera; no rules, just shoot. It was through this experience that I was able to explore and view the city through a different lens (both figuratively and literally!). I began paying attention to the details, those created by nature and the others created by people, all intertwined, weaving the fabric that the city is today with hints of what it might be tomorrow. Taking this appreciation of the city, combined with entrepreneurial spirit within me that had been itching since my elementary school days of going door-to-door selling walnut mouse magnets, I set out to distill the very essence of Portland into a hand-curated box and Slice of a City was born.
